Bank on it: useful? / harmful!
Banks are making news for their poorly regulated and reckless greed. But one TD branch on NY’s tony Upper East Side is doing its part for social good: providing a room for the night.
At right top, activists occupy a Montpelier, VT branch to protest TD’s investments in the Dakota Access Pipeline, with Bread and Puppet Theater supplying visual horsepower. Outside, demonstrators condemn the bank’s involvement in the 1,172-mile-long oil pipeline that facilitates reliance on fossil fuels and (whoops!) occasionally leaks.
