The empty Walmart entrance seems post-apocalyptically lonely and bleak. The industrial patterns of New York’s 9th Street Path station, on the other hand, appeal to me with their utilitarian beauty. It could just be that one has been an engine of destruction for small business and downtowns; the other is in service to open function, to getting people where they need to go.
