Largely ignored, a busker at Manhattan’s West 4th Street subway plays a traditional Chinese stringed instrument, with little apparent joy.
It is my understanding that one may play a musical instrument in the subway or subway station, but amplifiers are not permitted.
i think the city issues a limited number of permits, but you could check.
