1. Sorry, brilliant as you are, you can't say with certainty what Biden would have done if he really wanted to, etc. No one can.
More difficult:
2. The carnage happening right now in Gaza is completely hideous. No disagreement there. No person can view it without horror and full-body recoil. But I'm alarmed about . . .
3. The worldwide forgetting of what brought on this misery for Gaza. Having read the reports by survivors and families of survivors and of those innocent Israelis killed and tortured when Hamas attacked, I can't ignore or forget their hideous miseries either. And I'm afraid of ever more antisemitism now that Israel is perceived to be the aggressor.
4. The current political use of the horrors in Gaza as threat to Biden's presidency, concurrent with the threat to hold back their votes for the Democrat in November. To my mind, this is fantastically dangerous because it will contribute to an entirely different kind of body count: more votes for Trump.
5. The fact that MAGA world is now entirely ready to take over the country. No more fumbling around like bumbleheads the way they did in 2016. The entire hideous, life-threatening, violent plan for another Trump White House is laid out in hundreds of pages: "Project 2025." Online. No need to wonder what they plan. It's all there. Be afraid, be very afraid. (Yes, I'm stealing the line from Geena Davis in "The Fly." I want my warning to be vivid but not melodramatic.)
6. So I hope that no one will sacrifice a vote against Trump for an equally important effort to stop the carnage in Gaza. I hope a salve for all this misery can come in a form that will not eradicate the remains of our own country.
I have no words for the death that is horribly disfiguring 2 countries, disfiguring their spirits and horrifying all onlookers. Biden and the world wants a ceasefire as one tiny step toward peace, but Hamas seemingly does not. How to react? If a neighbor were abusing his/her spouse, relative, an onlooker would try to help. What do the leaders of neighboring countries think? Has there been an attempt in intervene?
Yes, Judy, it is terrible. But i think if Biden really wanted a ceasefire, he would: threaten [and mean it] to cut off all aid to Israell, stop supplying intelligence and weapons, more the capital out of jerusalem, demand an end to west bank settlements,. and vote with the entire UN security council to condemn israel. He might also consider an in-person address to the Knesset to undermine Netanyahu, as Bibi did to him with congress.
It is what is happening and cannot be denied. Cancellation of a record of events is pointless. What if it was a pro-genocide rally? Would they still cancel?
This Wikipedia link is easier to absorb than "Project 2025." Probably its useful to read this first: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_2025
Terrifying.

Respect, Terry. And peace. Rhoda

That scroll on the sidewalk is just heartbreaking. Seems like the bad guys always win.😢
The toll has now reached 30,000.
I’m so glad you were there to document the event.
Thanks for posting this.
It is drawing some subscription cancellations. Touchy, touchy.

Yes.
