Aqueduct Raceway's two sports

Aquaduct Raceway is accessible by subway, although it is a long ride from Manhattan. I went on a spring day and shot its two sports - horse racing and gambling - set in side-by-side areas.

After a race, one of the horses, covered with mud and spent, is led back to the stable.

In the adjacent casino a man, seeming bored to near inertia, plays the slots, the dumbest game of all - dependent only on luck, where the house makes the rules and rules the luck.
