Love these photos. I am so old that I remember a horse clopping down my grandmother's street in Camden N.J. to deliver milk, and the gypsies that went from settlement to settlement, everything loaded in their swaying wagons, again, in Camden circa 1950. I was warned to stay inside as they passed. Ahhh, what memories you triggered!
Some years back the Museum of Natural History in New York had a major exhibition on The Horse, which some people considered a strange thing to do. The reason for the spotlight was the special role of horses in human history. They have been our helpers and partners in many ways.
