Oh, the places we invade, the lives we impact
The US “Shock and Awe” invasion of Iraq was just days away when I took this photo; there is no knowing how the life of this Baghdadi girl would soon be changed.
In Grenada, another place the US had invaded—in an utterly stupid war launched by Ronald Reagan— a girl shyly faces the camera.
It is horrible and terrifying knowing the power our country has to step in and destroy lives.
The photograph of the girl in Grenada is a beauty.
