In the past few days, torrents of too-warm rain and melting snow raised rivers, fears of climate change, and memories of last summer’s floods. This time, however, the damage was far less serious.
It did get me thinking about water—that in addition to its dangerous power, it possessed as well a beguiling talent for reflection.
Above: a swan swans in a moat around a castle in Chantilly, France, where the salad I ordered for lunch was nearly drowned by three variations of rich cream. (HA! take that you abstemious leaves of green.)
Below: a flooded cemetery in Montpelier during the July flood.
The swan photo is a beauty. The cemetery is intriguing. I have been back to it several times. So many levels to look into and think about.
Beautiful swan and it reflection.
The cemetery is hauntingly beautiful in this shot but how sad and the memories…! Sigh!
