Silly and serious / old and young
What appeals to me about the top photo, taken in China 1982, is that the old guy has such a childish grin, while the kid casts a dignified gaze.
Below, a child rocks a tutu and a “Birthday Girl” T-shirt for a day out at the Tunbridge World’s Fair with her grandfather.
