In a Latinx neighborhood in the Bronx NYC, this Mexican store showcases the fancy-ass boots favored by many local denizens.
Just before the US invasion of Iraq, life appeared to go on as nornal on the main shopping strip in downtown Badghad. In this hot, dusty climate, sandals are favored along with some sneakers.
In both neighorhoods, people welcomed a strange woman with a big camera, with friendly cooperation in the taking of a photo.
I thought the Hispanic population rejected being called “Latinx”.
