I like looking at tattoos, both for the art and for what they reveal—in a deeply private and at the same time, nakedly public way—about what the wearer most values.
But I am always a bit unnerved by the confidence it takes to apply such indelible images in light of how life and flesh change over time.
The first photo is an excellent example of why one shouldn't try to replicate faces in tattoos. Her child won't thank her for that caricature-ish image!
Ink does not age well on skin.
