The ones who can least "afford" it bear the brunt of it. These tragedies highlight the ever-present undercurrent of our indifference and no can do attitude.

Or, “good thing the young are fighting Climate Change”.

Having done little politically for most of our privileged lives, we feel at a loss for what to do, especially in Vermont which is generally progressive. There are multiple organizations in Vermont which are trying to make a difference, 350.org, VECAN and our national, state, and local elected officials need support and ideas, especially now.

In 1984 our road in E. Calais was washed out and rerouted around a house at the bottom of the hill. I think it took 2 years to get it repaired. To all the people who are in trouble now, I feel your pain! Hang in there!

What heartbreaking photos. I have noticed the change in America's attitude (news, social media) over the last few days too. "It can't happen here"---->"oh no, it's REAL!"
