Born in fire, tempered by water and time
The goddess of fire offers a renewal of sorts but at a tragic cost. Flora and fauna will return but at such an avoidable cost.
yes.
Terry,
Such great discussions and metaphors!/ juxtapositions ! Poor Mama Earth is trying so hard to wake us up! ❤️Celina
Thank you. It really seems to have come home to roost--all our profligacy and self indulgence, but far worse the greedy, unregulated corporate criminals and the politicians who profit from them.
I read that invasive grasses were one of the main reasons for the quick spread of the fire. We've done it again.
So proud to be a human.
Fascinated by the golden glass threads. Do they support regrowth of plants? Can't bear to think about what has been lost.
It is truly horrific. The threads are quite fragile and really are glass, so i doubt that are "useful," but oh how they glitter. Here's a scientific explanation: https://www.zmescience.com/science/geology/pele-hair-lava/
Thanks Terry. Really amazing stuff! Thanks for my education for the day!!
Me, too. I photographed Pele's hair, but hadnt really understood it.
Nice sequence...and ruined by man...
Yes, I thought about adding that. Wonder at my uncharacteristic restraint.
