It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way–in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only.
The best I can come up with is that after the next four years he will never be able to run for President again. I admit to losing a bit of sleep thinking that if he lost this one, he might be able to control much of the Congressional work remotely throughout the next four years and live long enough to run again in 2028.
Gutted, just gutted. You've summed up my emotional state perfectly.
A perfect word for it. I am listening to more music and reading less news.

and certainly for many ti will be hard times, hard times.
Shock hit hard when I turned on the radio this morning. Your photos sum it up accurately - thanks, Terry.
It's the ones who get appointed to run things for the next 4 years while he plays golf and cavorts that I find terrifying.
On, on, onward...
Finally, a deep state ... for real.

Ah. The search for silver linings. Hard work, isn't it.
Yes indeed. The psychologists call it "reframing." The more you do it the easier it gets.
😤😢
Well done, Terry. Thank you.
Thanks, it's devastating, isn't it.
It's definitely sobering. A blunt and unmistakable reckoning with the state of mind of a majority of our fellow citizens.
Ashamed. Sad. Still strong and supporting the Constitution and rule of law.
I hope you are ashamed of the majority of voters and not yourself.
