Shao Fan, 2009. It was on exhibit at the Met in 2014.

I am intrigued by the idea of privacy in a crowd. Beautifully illustrated in these portraits.

I really feel that way in NYC subways. There are so many bizarre people around that very little attracts more than a second's notice. And even then, even more bizarre things and people will pop up quickly enuf. It provides, if not privacy, something that feels the same.

Yes. I really didnt do it justice. The paintings were, as I remember about 6' wide and the detail vivid, so no mistaking in the originals
